Employment Opportunities at Linden House Assisted Living and Memory Care
Nursing Assistant
Nursing Assistants are an important part of the caregiving team at Linden House. Our Nursing Assistants provide direct, hands-on care to assigned residents in the Assisted Living area or within our secure 24-bed Memory Care unit. Nursing assistants provide personalized care, helping to ensure resident well-being by assisting with daily living activities, encouraging social and recreational engagement within coordinated activity programs, facilitating meal participation, and tending to the general tidiness of resident rooms.
To be considered, candidates must have one of the following: CNA license issued by VA Dept of Health Professions; evidence of completion of the Nurse Aide training course; certification as a Direct Care Aide (DCA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA). Previous experience in a senior living residential facility required. In order to meet resident care needs, all Nursing Assistant positions require availability and willingness to work every other weekend.
Registered Medication Aide (RMA)
RMAs are a critical part of the Linden House care-giving team. RMAs are responsible for administering prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and facility policy. RMAs also provide direct care to residents and may be designated the “direct care staff person in charge” or “supervisor” when the designated manager is not on duty.
To be considered, candidates must have a current, unexpired RMA license issued by the VA Dept of Health Professions and be qualified to administer medications in ALF settings. Previous experience in assisted living is required. In order to meet resident care needs, all RMA positions require availability and willingness to work every other weekend.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
LPNs are an integral to providing for the well-being, safety, and health of Linden House residents. In fact, at Linden House, the official job title of this position is “Wellness Nurse." The LPN/Wellness Nurse provides oversight to resident care on their shift. This includes administering (or overseeing the administration of) prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders; providing guidance and supervision to Nursing Assistants and RMAs; responding to special needs and emergencies; and communicating appropriate information to residents, families, management, and direct care staff.
To be considered, candidates must have a current, unexpired LPN license issued by the VA Dept of Health Professions or from a compact state. Experience as a caregiver in a residential senior living facility is required. In order to meet resident care needs, all Wellness Nurse positions require availability and willingness to work every other weekend.
Culinary Aide / Dining Server
Culinary Aides are front-line customer service associates who play a key role in providing a pleasant dining experience for Linden House residents. Culinary Aides prepare the dining area for meal service, ensuring a clean and appealing setting; serve resident meals in the dining area; and wait on tables during mealtime. They also assist with daily food service functions in the kitchen, including preparing salads and desserts, cleaning, and, as assigned, operating the dishwasher.
To be considered, candidates must have the desire and ability to comfortably interact with seniors using superior customer service, genuine compassion, and a hospitality approach. In order to meet resident care needs, all Culinary Aide positions require availability and willingness to work every other weekend.
Cook
By preparing tasty and nutritious meals, Linden House Cooks help ensure that some residents' favorite times of day–breakfast, lunch, and dinner–are appealing and delightful. Cooks follow chef-approved menus and recipes using cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, frying, and steaming while handling both raw and cooked food in accordance with approved safety protocols. The Cook will help ensure that the kitchen operates within approved sanitation standards and will guide other kitchen staff in sanitation, customer service, and teamwork. Cooks also coordinate and properly store vendor-provided food items and participate in catering events for resident functions, holiday parties, outdoor festivals, and other special events.
In order to meet resident care needs, all Cook positions require availability and willingness to work every other weekend.
Housekeeper
Our housekeepers play an important role in providing a safe and appealing environment for Linden House residents. Housekeepers clean resident apartments and common areas as assigned, using approved cleaning products and techniques. Included are routine tasks like sweeping or vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, and emptying trash, as well as special projects, such as periodic “deep cleaning” of windows, vents, hands rails, baseboards, etc. Laundry duties and floor care may also be included.
To be considered, candidates must have the desire and ability to comfortably interact with seniors using superior customer service, genuine compassion, and a hospitality approach. Institutional cleaning experience preferred. In order to meet resident care needs, all Housekeeper positions require availability and willingness to work every other weekend.
Employment Opportunities at Branchlands Senior Independent Living
Dining Server / Wait Staff
Branchlands residents live independently in their own apartments and are treated to an evening meal, Monday through Friday, served in our beautiful onsite dining room. Residents also enjoy brunch provided by our dining team every Saturday morning. Dining Servers are front-line customer service ambassadors who play a key role in providing a pleasant and engaging dining experience for Branchlands residents. As a Dining Server, you will work as a team to prepare a clean and appealing dining room, serve resident meals in the dining room, and wait on tables during mealtime. You will also assist with clean-up activities to ensure the dining room is ready for subsequent meals and special events.
Most positions are part-time—the weekday work schedule begins in the afternoon and ends when the kitchen closes at 7:30 pm. To be considered, candidates must have the desire and ability to comfortably interact with seniors using superior customer service, genuine compassion, and a hospitality approach. In order to meet resident care needs, all Branchlands Dining Server positions require availability and willingness to work every other Saturday morning. No other weekend or holiday work hours are required.
Housekeeping Assistant
Our housekeepers play an important role in providing a safe and appealing environment for Branchlands residents. Institutional cleaning experience preferred. Housekeeping positions at Branchlands work Monday through Friday and are not required to perform weekend or holiday work.
Prep Cook / Cook
The Prep Cook assists Branchlands' Executive Chef by preparing ingredients to be used in the Chef’s dinner meal preparation. Included is washing and chopping fruits and vegetables, preparing salads, plating desserts, keeping the kitchen area clean, and other duties as assigned. The Prep Cook may also coordinate meal service in the absence of Executive Chef by assisting a temporary replacement Chef, or cooking pre-prepared meals to be plated and served by wait staff. The Prep Cook will also assist in proper storage of vendor-provided food items and participate in catering events for resident functions, holiday parties, outdoor festivals, and other special events.
In order to meet resident care needs, all Cook positions require availability and willingness to work every other Saturday morning for brunch service. Weekday work schedule begins at 11:00 am and ends when the kitchen closes at 7:30 pm; Saturday brunch begins at 7:30 am and ends around 11:30 am.
